Code Brown annotation added to the EMR

To support Monash Health’s Pandemic Code Brown plan, a Communication order and Code Brown Note will automatically be added to every inpatient episode and Emergency presentation in the EMR.

This change will be effective from Friday, 28 January, and will remain in place for the duration of our Code Brown Pandemic response.

The EMR Code Brown annotation will be added automatically and will have no impact on our users or require their input.

The Code Brown status will be added to each EMR encounter and will be viewable in the patient’s medical record. It will be available for reporting and auditing purposes going forward.

Please note: the Code Brown EMR annotation will not be viewable in clinical notes that are printed or sent to My Health Record.
