Practicing mindfulness – Digital Wellbeing Series spotlight

Available for all our employees, the Digital Wellbeing Series by the Resilience Project includes ten 3-minute videos covering topics including gratitude, empathy, and emotional literacy.

Each month we will put the spotlight on a different topic and share new strategies you can introduce into your daily routine to prioritise your health and mental wellbeing.

This month the focus is on: Mindfulness

Mindfulness is about paying attention to the present moment, with curiosity and without judgement. It’s a concept that has been around for thousands of years, and there is a wealth of evidence on its physical and mental health benefits.

Regular mindfulness practice for as little as ten minutes a day can increase energy levels, sleep quality, productivity and awareness.

Mindfulness is usually associated with meditation, but you can practice mindfulness when you’re walking the dog, solving a puzzle, or colouring in.

Access the Digital Wellbeing series

To access the Digital Wellbeing Series and to watch the video on ‘Mindfulness’, log in to LATTE and search ‘The Resilience Project’ under the ‘Find Learning’ tab.

To learn more about The Resilience Project, visit their website. For more information, resources and log in details for the Digital Wellbeing Series, visit the Monash Health COVID-19 employee website. Keep an eye out for next month’s spotlight, where the topic is ‘Emotional Literacy’.

You can access all 10 topics of the Digital Wellbeing Series. However, the monthly spotlights aim to help you focus on one topic at a time. To make new lasting habits, it is important to start small, add in one change at a time and to remain consistent. If you feel more comfortable, you can complete all modules in your own time.
