Monash Health has policies in place to help our employees, our patients, and our community protect themselves in the public domain.
These policies guide how our organisation engages with media and social media and explain what is considered making a public comment on behalf of the organisation.
Even if it’s unintentional, an off-handed comment to a persistent journalist or a poorly worded social media post could breach the privacy of a patient, reveal sensitive information, or negatively impact the reputation of your team and the organisation.
If you’ve been approached by a journalist or seen something from a colleague or patient on social media that you think might reveal private information, contact communication@monashhealth.org between 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, and the team will aim to respond within 24 hours.
If you have an urgent enquiry, call our 24-hour media enquiries line on (03) 9594 7722. You can also forward any enquiries from a journalist to media@monashhealth.org.
