We are pleased to welcome Lisa Evans to Monash Health as our new Executive Director, Office of the Chief Executive.
After spending part of her early career in private healthcare, Lisa makes a return to the industry, keen to explore the opportunities that await. Lisa’s extensive portfolio at Monash Health will include Procurement and Engineering, Asset Management, Capital and Infrastructure, Legal, Monash Health Foundation, Strategy and Service Planning and the Transformation Office.
Lisa comes to Monash Health with a background in law. Completing her law degree in New Zealand, Lisa brought her talents to Australia where she has held many roles refining her executive leadership skills. Lisa spent 11 years with Australia Pacific Airports Corporation Ltd (Melbourne Airport) leading their corporate functions across a range of areas including legal, human resources, safety, environment, sustainability and corporate affairs. Most recently, Lisa worked for COVID-19 Quarantine Victoria leading their commercial, finance, risk and human resources teams.
Despite the challenges currently facing healthcare, Lisa sees there are many opportunities at Monash Health.
“So much great work has been done already, and we can use that as a launchpad for some really exciting developments ahead.”
With change a constant in many organisations she’s worked in, Lisa enjoys the process of seeing her efforts come to fruition, and is looking forward to seeing transformation at Monash Health.
What has immediately struck Lisa upon her arrival at Monash Health is the talent and supportive culture.
“One of my favourite things since I arrived? – STAR awards. I absolutely love that! The people are incredible…the calibre of the employees in this organisation is phenomenal.”
Growing up in the New Zealand high country, Lisa likes to take the opportunity to escape bustling urban life and head away. Not shy about travelling, Lisa can proudly say she has visited every continent.
Following one stint of travelling, Lisa landed in Australia – and never left. Credited to the age-old story of “I met a boy”, Lisa has spent the last 20 years in Australia with her now-husband, later joined by two children who lead very active lives.
We wish Lisa all the best as she embarks on her Monash Health career.
“The first few weeks have far exceeded my expectations – I’m super excited to be here.”
