How do you collect consumer smoking history and habits in a clinical setting? Reminder to take our short survey.

Monash Health is dedicated to providing a smoke-free environment for our employees, patients and other visitors.

As a key objective of the Monash Health Smoke-free Action Plan 2020-2021, we want to determine the current practice for the identification, diagnosis, and documentation of smokers across our services and sites.

If you are a patient-facing employee in a clinical setting, we encourage you to complete our short 5-minute survey:

The survey will be open until Friday 10 June 2022

This survey will help provide key information to determine the barriers faced in gathering patient information and will lay the foundation for further employee consultation.

Chris Sharp, Pharmacist and Smoke-free Clinical Project Lead highlighted the importance and value of conducting this type of research.

“We encourage patient-facing employees in clinical settings to participate in this survey to help us understand the smoking habits of patients in our care,” he said.

“The results will allow us to gain better insights into behaviours and provide the opportunity to develop better methods of support for our patients.”

If you are interested in participating in future planned smoke-free consultation and research, please complete our consent form:

Supporting patients to cease smoking is an important part of this work and underpins our commitment to a healthy community.
