Changes to patient entertainment options

Throughout the pandemic, alongside other healthcare providers, we introduced visiting restrictions, in order to keep our patients, visitors and employees safe. 

To support our patients while these restrictions were in place, we covered the costs of TV access with the private operator who provides the TV services. 

As restrictions have eased and we are now welcoming visitors back into our hospitals, we are returning to our standard patient entertainment options. This means that from Monday 4 July, complimentary patient entertainment will no longer be offered on patient TVs. 

The telephone and television facilities in a patient’s room will continue to be available for hire. 

Complimentary patient WIFI remains available for patients to use with their phone, tablet or laptop.
