This free, optional service will provide you with immediate medical practitioner access, treatment advice and support for any work-related injuries.
We have partnered with Cogent Thinking, a leading provider in preventing and managing workplace injuries, to help support you if you become injured or ill from a workplace incident.
Early intervention methods are vital in ensuring you receive the best care, supporting you to remain at work, where possible.
What should I do if I am injured at work?
If you are injured because of a workplace incident:
- At the time of injury, you can choose to have a call with this optional service. Call 1800 264 368 (1800 COGENT). If you would like additional support, you can provide consent for your manager to join you on the first call, however, this is your choice.
- You will speak to a health professional and be triaged to the appropriate care or associated network of medical services.
- Your consultant will discuss and provide activities or duties, and advice for both physical and psychological injuries. This can help to support you to remain at work and recover while continuing to work.
- Your right to lodge a Workers Compensation claim for work-related injury does not change.
- Don’t forget to log the incident in Riskman.
- A health professional will then undertake a follow-up phone call after 24/48 hours – if you have not recovered, you will be referred to our Injury Management team who will continue to support you during your recovery.
Benefits of an injury triage service
This optional service provides immediate access to support following an injury at work.
Your triage consultant will provide advice on suitable activities and duties for both physical and psychological injuries to help support you to remain at work and recover.
If you require a medical appointment, the consultant will assist with facilitating a booking with a medical appointment with a GP or can triage as required. There are no out-of-pocket expenses for you to attend a GP appointment for a work-related injury. You can choose to see your own doctor, noting that an out-of-pocket expense may be required initially until your Workers Compensation claim has been processed.
We care about your health, safety and wellbeing. Our optional, free injury triage service provides a key response, so you feel supported early and are on the right track with your recovery.
