SECASA gains full accreditation

We are delighted to announce that the South Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence (SECASA) recently gained full accreditation across four health services standards.  

SECASA is part of Monash Health, and is the largest family violence and sexual assault service provider across south-east metropolitan Melbourne, delivering services and programs to our community, including: 

Accreditation assessors from the Victorian Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) visited various sites and hospitals across the 3-day assessment period to measure our performance against the following ‘Human Services Standards’ 

  • Standard 1: Empowerment – People’s rights are promoted and upheld 
  • Standard 2: Access and Engagement – People’s rights to access transparent, equitable and integrated services are promoted and upheld 
  • Standard 3: Wellbeing – People’s rights to wellbeing and safety are promoted and upheld 
  • Standard 4: Participation – People’s rights to choice, decision making and to actively participate as a valued member of their chosen community is promoted and upheld 

Feedback from the assessors includes that our team was well-prepared, our values, mission and vision are well embedded into SECASA, and we empower our clients, promote wellbeing and provide a safe environment for clients and employees.  

Bridget Wall, Director of SECASA said that it is pleasing to receive such positive feedback from the assessors.  

“It demonstrates that we have in place processes and procedures to continue to provide a high level of quality care for our clients,” she said.  

“We are always looking for new ways to improve our service and there were a few recommendations from the assessors which we are currently implementing,” she continued.
