Closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation
You will be aware that there has been an increase in the number of COVID-19 infections in the community.
We continue to keep a close eye on cases, and I ask that you also be vigilant with your safety, alongside that of your family, colleagues, and patients.
Please follow the appropriate PPE and mask requirements, get tested, and stay away from work if you have symptoms.
If you missed it, I encourage you to watch Professor Rhonda Stuart’s update on COVID-19 Infections at this week’s Employee Forum.
We will continue to review our settings on an ongoing basis.
Changes to COVID-19 related leave
Following updated guidance from the Department of Health, there are some changes to the COVID-19 related leave available to our employees. You can read more in the Frequently Asked Questions available on our COVID-19 Employee website.
Monash Health AGM and Open Board Meeting, featuring Ben Crowe
This year’s AGM and Open Board Meeting will be held on Thursday 1 December, and will feature an interview with leadership mentor and mindset coach, Ben Crowe.
Our theme this year is ‘Connecting with our purpose as we plan for the future’.
Ben is one of Australia’s most in-demand professional mentor and leadership coaches, working with athletes, CEOs, coaches, teams and executive teams all over the world. His work involves helping people connect with their purpose, embrace vulnerability, and find perspective and growth in difficult times.
Ben will also do a session for all employees in early December as part of our wellbeing offering. Please keep an eye out for details of that session, which I’m sure you will all find enlightening.
You will be able to attend the AGM/Open Board Meeting online, as we host a hybrid event this year. Details will be published shortly, but please save the date and time: Thursday 1 December from 2pm-3.30pm.
Caretaker Conventions are in place
We have entered the Caretaker period in the run-up to the State Election on 26 November 2022.
Caretaker Conventions apply until the election result is clear or (in the event of a close result) a new government is sworn in.
During the Caretaker period, health services must remain apolitical and should not provide any public comment on election issues. You can read more here on guidance for employees in the lead-up to the State Election.
Thank you for the work you do to care for and show kindness to our patients and each other every day.
Professor Andrew Stripp
Chief Executive
