Victorian Election 2022 – voting information for patients, residents and employees

Following advice from the Department of Health, the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) is unable to provide face-to-face mobile polling services at Monash Health (and other health services across Victoria) for the upcoming State Election scheduled for Saturday 26 November.

In preparation for the election, the VEC has voting arrangements in place for our patients who find themselves in our care and unable to attend a polling place on election day.

While you are not expected to assist patients in exercising their right to vote, some of our patients and their families/carers may have questions about how they can vote.

Patients have three voting options (unless already registered as a General Postal Voter)

Apply for a one-off postal vote

  • Patients are eligible to apply for a one-off postal vote if they are unable to attend a polling place on election day
  • Patients are encouraged to apply as soon as they are aware they are eligible
  • Applications to apply close 6pm on Wednesday 23 November
  • If eligible, patients can apply on the VEC website
  • If a patient is unable to fill out the online form, paper forms are available from Nurse Managers, Ward Clerks or main site reception areas
  • The paper form can be downloaded here.

Visit an early voting centre

  • Patients are eligible to visit an early voting centre if they are aware they will be in our care and unable to visit a polling place on election day
  • If eligible, patients can find their closest early voting centre on the VEC website.
