Jessie McPherson Private Hospital Maternity Services Launches New Maternity App

Like many healthcare teams the Jessie McPherson Maternity Team have been exploring ways in which they can enhance the patient experience in lieu of in-person, on-site events, such as maternity tours and information evenings. Also similar to many healthcare teams across the state and within the Monash Health network the Jessie Maternity Team have been looking at how to deliver on this with a shortage of midwives.

Then the team discovered Eve, a maternity experience platform delivered as a smart phone app.

The Eve app is offered to Jessie McPherson maternity patients free of charge, and provides new and expectant mothers with access to a variety of tools and a library of educational content, all of which have been authored by obstetricians, midwives, and specialists.

The Eve app has both antenatal and postnatal features, includes a forum for mums to communicate, and patients can also message a midwife.

The Maternity Team, led by Janelle Gridley (Maternity Unit Manager), are excited about providing an enhanced experience, knowing that the app will allow the team to seamlessly support families through their pregnancy and early parenting journey.

Janelle shared “It is a logical step that we make available such an amazing, interactive app as a wonderful resource of contemporary, evidence based articles and information for today’s pregnant women and their partners. Eve will enhance any woman’s pregnancy journey and make it easy to keep track of her statistics and progress along the way. It’s educational and a quick reference guide is available for most questions, but also allows a conversation with a midwife if needs be and even makes contacting the hospital easy if a problem arises.”

Jessie McPherson’s Clinical Midwifery Educator, Courtney Alexander has been instrumental in ensuring the app has all the latest evidence based content, “The Eve app is a wonderful way for Jessie McPherson Private Hospital to engage with parents throughout their pregnancy and post-natal journey. With the app we have an ability to provide evidence based information, in an easy format, with a unique opportunity to ask questions of our midwives, resulting in parents having more accessible support.”

While we acknowledge an app can never replace the skills and experience of our Obstetricians and Midwives, we hope that providing our patients with access to the Eve app will enrich their pregnancy, birthing and early parenting experience with Jessie McPherson.

The Eve app is now live and access is provided once a patients’ booking is confirmed.
