On Sunday 4 December, children aged 3-12 are invited to race against Puffing Billy in The Rotary Club of Emerald & District’s annual event ‘Kids Fun Run with Puffing Billy’ in Gembrook.
Each participant will race against the iconic steam train in one of six aged-based groups in a day of fun for the entire family, while raising funds for the Monash Children’s Cancer Centre. The Children’s Cancer Centre at Monash Children’s Hospital cares for approximately 30% of all childhood cancer patients in Victoria.
Organisers of this year’s iconic event are aiming to raise $40,000 to help care for these children and support their families throughout their treatment journey.
Every child participating will receive a special certificate and a showbag upon completion of their race. Plus, there will be prizes for the first boy and girl across the finish line in each group.
Parents and children not participating in the race can join in the fun by cheering on others and take a joy ride on Puffing Billy at various times throughout the event.
To register to participate in a race or to book a joy ride, visit the Rotary Club of Emerald & District’s website – don’t delay as some age groups are filling up fast!
