VHH Employee Training and Familiarisation for EMR and Digital Changes

Whether you are an existing Monash Health employee who will be working at or rotating to the Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH) or a new VHH employee we have training and supporting resources and engagement ready for the digital health applications you will be using. Please read the following to ensure you are Go-Live ready for the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), integrating Digital Systems and Devices, and Baret application.

Training requirements – what do I need to do for the EMR?

  • All employees transferring across to the VHH and new Monash Health employees who will be working in or rotating to the VHH need to complete the VHH eLearning and SimLab training in preparation for using the new EMR and digital system workflows and digital devices.
  • Check the VHH Training Matrix on the EMR Knowledge Hub  to find your relevant VHH EMR training stream.
  • First, you need to complete your VHH EMR eLearning on Latte, scroll through to the matrix on Latte to find the VHH training streams.
    • Select the training relevant to your discipline and area.
    • Then watch the intro video.
    • Click on EXIT at the bottom of the slide to launch the course.
    • Click on the blue option to return to the Latte homepage.
    • Click on the orange EMR training tile to return to your eLearning.
    • Continue these steps until all of the videos in your eLearning course are completed.
  • Second, you need to book into your SimLab session via the Latte EMR Webinar Tab. In most areas your manager will book you into your SimLab, some managers may advise you to book yourself in. Once you are logged into the Latte EMR Webinar tab, click on ‘expand all’ to see the full list and select the VHH Simulation Lab option. Click on ‘Expand all’ to find your relevant SimLab session.

Don’t miss out: SimLab sessions are limited – book in now!

  • SimLab sessions are limited, and we strongly recommend managers book their team members into the appropriate SimLab sessions as soon as possible to ensure they don’t miss out. All employees commencing at VHH after it opens on 23 February 2023 must have completed the appropriate EMR training. Managers who do not currently have booking access within Latte, please email lmsadmin@monashhealth.org to request manager access.
  • Managers need to nominate EMR Champions for their area at the VHH if they have not already done so. Once your Champions are nominated, you need to make sure you have booked them into their two required SimLab sessions. Nominate your Champions here
  • New Employees to Monash Health are required to firstly complete the appropriate EMR Foundations Training relevant to their discipline and speciality prior to undertaking the required VHH EMR training.
  • EMR Training and support materials including quick-reference-guides (QRGs), key workflow videos, workflow posters, and more will be available on the EMR Knowledge Hub (also accessible by entering www.emrmonashhealth.org into your browser).

Training requirements – what do I need to do for Baret?

  • The Baret Application is coming to the VHH for all clinical communication across disciplines. You will be adding the Baret App to your Microsoft Teams account and registering on the App to facilitate secure, role-based communications. We will help you with this during the SimLab and Familiarisation sessions.
  • To get ready for using Baret, complete the  Baret eLearning modules on Latte.

For any EMR training related questions, please email EMRTRaining@monashhealth.org

Familiarisation Events – how can I see the system, devices and ask questions?

In order to prepare for the new digital changes that the VHH will bring, there are a number of Engagement Resources and Familiarisation Events!

You can access these on the Victorian Heart Hospital Information Site

Here you will find:

  • Recordings of Virtual Interactives for different professional groups or clinical areas to watch at a time convenient for you.
  • ‘VHH EMR Workflow Posters’ These highlight the key digital changes for each professional group and can be printed and shared with your teams and areas so they understand how the integrated systems at VHH will impact them.
  • Familiarisation Events Calendar that lists all of the Familiarisation events occurring in the lead up to Go-Live. There are a combination of virtual and on-site engagement sessions, including ‘Interactive Demos and Q&As’ and ‘Digital Walkthroughs at VHH’.

For any questions regarding Engagement and Familiarisation, please contact Sara.Bennett@monashhealth.org (VHH Digital Transformation Lead).
