Show us what’s inside your lunchbox and win!

"Kick start the year by making healthy food choices" is written in blue with a white background. To the left of the words is a drawing of an apple with the words "Healthy Lunchbox Week" inside.

You can win one of three stainless steel lunchboxes packed with a recipe book and lunch bag by entering our Healthy Lunchbox competition.

Did you know planning and packing a healthy lunch boosts your mood and helps line your pocket?

Research suggests planning healthy lunches can lower your stress, improve your work performance, help your bank balance and improve your overall nutrition.

To enter the Healthy Lunchbox competition, snap a picture of your home-prepared healthy lunch containing each of the five food groups and tell us how eating your healthy lunch made you feel by sending an email to gaynor.henderson@monashhealth.org. The competition will run until 9 March.

Check out the below for some quick tips on how to achieve a healthy lunchbox:

  1. Plan your lunches for the week by writing a matching shopping list so you have all the ingredients at your fingertips
  2. Invest in a lunchbox and pack it the night before to store in the fridge, minimising preparation time the next morning
  3. Portion healthy snacks in small containers, such as nuts, dip and vegetables like cherry tomatoes, baby corn, snack cucumbers and carrot sticks
  4. Instead of purchasing snacks through vending machines, use the money to buy a range of fruits you like instead for more bang for your buck and a healthier alternative
