Last week’s move from Monash Medical Centre to the Victorian Heart Hospital has been captured in a video which celebrates the incredible team work of our people.
The video celebrates last week’s move of cardiac services across to the new hospital.
With incident command teams set up at both sites to support the patient journey, we completed the safe transfer of 22 patients from Monash Medical Centre (MMC) to the VHH on Wednesday 8 March.
The following day, we commenced operation of our Cardiac Emergency and completed our first cardiac surgery and planned Cath lab sessions at the VHH.
At the same time, our teams have worked to reconfigure liberated MMC space, including Ward 32, which now comprises 24 beds, including four new high-acuity nursing beds. In time, we expect this ward to grow to 32 beds, including eight high-acuity beds.
