It’s not every day dental hygiene and cricket join forces – but for our Monash Health Dental Services team, that’s exactly what happened last week.
In collaboration with volunteers from Cricket Victoria, our talented team of dental employees held a celebratory sports day on 17 March to recognise and reward their hard work and dedication, and to improve employee health and wellbeing.
The Dental Services Team grew closer together during the team bonding activity.
The whole day event included a round robin cricket competition, where employees had the choice of being a player or supporter before enjoying a delicious lunch and refreshments.
The team building activity, which first started in 2016, was funded by a Stronger Together Wellbeing Grant and helped members of the dental team interact and form closer bonds with colleagues they may not ordinarily interact with on a daily basis.
The fun-filled day was a well-deserved break for the Dental Services Team.
With most Australian adults spending most of their time at their workplace, the sports day allowed our dental team to take a well-deserved break and participate in physical activity to help improve their overall health and wellbeing.
By putting down the dental scalers and picking up a cricket bat, the day successfully helped lift staff morale, strengthen team spirit and foster further social connectivity – with new friendships formed within the dental services department.
