The Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH) services are well underway. Super Users will transition out of the service from 7.30am on Wednesday, 22 March, and we thank them for the outstanding guidance and problem-solving they have provided over the last four weeks supporting our inpatient and outpatient services. Limited support will be available on-site until Friday, 31 March. Below, we outline the support available to you and your teams as VHH transitions to a business-as-usual model. Please note the step-down plan outlined below and the actions you can take to maximise every opportunity with the help available.
Nurse Managers
Please nominate your Champions now so they can be trained and assist their teammates in the future. We recommend 5 staff trained as Champions per unit to ensure a Champion is available for every shift during the week.
It is best to have a mix of Champions, including one Associate Nurse Manager and four clinical nurses including Clinical Nurse Specialists, Senior Nurses, and those who have demonstrated ease in using the new digital systems and devices. This ensures Nurse Managers are not called out from their usual duties to assist with questions and gives your team members the opportunity for development and teaching experience in digital health systems.
Fill in the Expression of Interest Form to nominate your Champions today! Please have your nominations in by COB Monday, 27 March 2023.
Support for Medical Teams
The Medical Clinical Informatics and Training teams will work with medical outpatient staff to train your Champions over the next few days. This will provide a sustained support model for post Go-Live, so don’t miss out; nominate your Champions.
Support for Nursing Teams
A trainer will be available for every AM (morning) and PM (afternoon) shift daily, including weekends, until Friday, 31 March. The trainers will provide general assistance and train Champions who can give support post-Go-Live.
Support for General Services Teams
A trainer will be provided daily during business hours to support supervisors and new and casual staff. The trainer will focus on training Champions in your area to use handsets and complete task lists.
Support for Outpatients Admin
A trainer will be provided daily during business hours to support Administration staff and Champions. They will work with you to nominate your Champions.
