Welcome to Monash Health | Tuesday 18 April 2023

As Victoria’s largest public health service, we continue to support and recruit strong, experienced leaders. Some of our newest appointments have built their careers with us over many years. Others come to Monash Health with equally impressive resumes from across Australia and around the world.

Each brings to Monash Health a wealth of skills, experience and expertise.

I am pleased to welcome them to the team.

Chief Aboriginal Health Advisor – Dan Carter

I am delighted to announce the appointment of a familiar face to a new and very important role at Monash Health, that of the Chief Aboriginal Health Advisor, Dan Carter

As Chief Aboriginal Health Advisor, Dan will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer, Martin Keogh, providing expert advice to the Chief Executive, Executive Management Team, and key stakeholders on a broad range of issues relating to Aboriginal Health and Engagement, inclusive of both patients and employees. This new role will ensure that the invaluable perspectives of First Nations people continue to be heard at the highest level across Monash Health.

For over 15 years, Dan has worked across local and state government, not-for-profit and community-controlled organisations, as well as health services around the country. From February 2021, Dan was Executive Director of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health for Central West Hospital and Health Service in Queensland.

Dan will commence on 13 June.

Director Monash Fertility – Dr Sarah Hunt

Dr Sarah Hunt has been appointed as the Director of the newly created Monash Health Fertility Service. Sarah has been a Monash Health general trainee and a Reproductive Endocrinology and Fertility trainee at Monash Health and Monash IVF. Sarah also has experience as a fertility specialist at Monash IVF.

Sarah will provide leadership to the public fertility service as it grows into the future. She will start in the role immediately.

Please join me in congratulating our new appointments and welcoming the invaluable perspectives and ideas they will bring to their roles.
