Thank you to our Nurses, today and everyday!

Friday 12 May is International Nurse’s Day – the day coincides with the birth of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. This year’s theme “Our Nurses. Our Future.” shines the light on nurses and on a brighter future for nursing in order to address the global health challenges and improve global health for all.

Adjunct Professor Katrina Nankervis, Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer expressed her heartfelt thanks and appreciation to our nurses.

“I want to thank and acknowledge our 10,435 nurses and midwives and 643 RUSON who go above and beyond every single day to deliver outstanding care to our community in some of their most vulnerable moments.

Every day I see so many extraordinary examples of what our nurses achieve, I was recently beaming with pride when I read through the nominations for the upcoming Annual Nursing and Midwifery Awards and Scholarships (NAMAS).

The compassion, empathy, expertise, and unwavering dedication you bring to our organisation is something you should all be immensely proud of,” said Katrina.

Here from some of our nurses about why they are proud to be a nurse at Monash Health.
