Have you completed your SMR training?

Time is ticking! With only a couple of weeks left before our SMR (Scanned Medical Records) system undergoes a significant upgrade, now is the time to complete your training.

This week, take a moment to schedule a drop-in session into your calendar, and set aside 30 minutes to complete your required LATTE modules, noting that LATTE training needs to be completed by Friday 23 June.

Who needs to do the training?

Everyone and anyone who uses the SMR system, including clinical and clerical teams, needs to do the training. This will ensure that you know how to submit, triage and process a patient referral in the new system from day one of the upgrade, providing a smooth transition for our teams and our patients.

What you need to do

  1. Take a look at the SMR Upgrade Training Matrix: this will tell you which training modules you need to complete according to the role/s you perform.
  2. Complete your required training on LATTE: you will find all the training modules under the Referrals Manager and Scanned Medical Record eLearning sections. Each training module will take around 15 minutes.
  3. Select an online session to attend: join a session for a live demonstration of the system and an opportunity to ask questions. There are three session types to specifically cater for the unique needs of referring clinicians, triaging clinicians and clerical teams.

What the upgrade means for you

The upgrade will introduce a new overall look and feel for the SMR, as well as three new fields, new referral status options, enhanced search capabilities, and other features to improve how we capture and manage patient and referral data. Through the upgrade, the ‘eReferrals’ module will also be renamed as the ‘Referrals Manager’.

It also means that when you submit or triage patient referrals, you will be required to provide a referral reason, the patient’s episode health condition/s, and mode of consultation from the list of available options.

You will learn all about how to do this and about other new features through the LATTE training and information sessions.

Be change ready and complete your training today.
