This year, we asked what’s most important to you about working with Monash Health. We also asked you to share your ideas about how we can make the experience even better.
As the experts in what works for you and your teams, we thank you for your rich feedback via our online suggestion box, virtual drop-in sessions, and local area meetings. Over 1,700 employees across our sites, areas, departments and disciplines contributed their perspectives.
Many of you told us that you joined Monash Health for the opportunities – including unique opportunities – provided in a large health service, our reputation, the care provided, the proximity to home, and a welcoming and inclusive environment.
The things you found most important in terms of job satisfaction were providing great care and outcomes; feeling recognised for the contribution you’re making; working with positive, effective teams and colleagues; purpose, connection, and respectful relationships.
Through your feedback, we have identified key themes where we can add value to the employee experience:
- Flexibility
- Equity, inclusion and wellbeing
- Strong leadership and support
- Professional development
- Innovation
Pillars of the Workforce Strategy
These themes have informed the four pillars of our workforce strategy:
- Belonging – Working in supportive, healthy and safe teams with work-life balance and flexibility.
- Innovation – Embrace cutting edge initiatives, foster innovation and drive positive change through forward thinking solutions that align with our purpose.
- Leadership – Leaders who inspire, challenge and support high-performing teams through kindness and respect.
- Growth – Embrace a culture of lifelong learning where curiosity thrives, to support personal and professional growth.
At this week’s employee forum, Chris McLoughin, Executive Director People and Culture, presented an update on the development of our new Workforce Strategy, and how it will support our current workforce and develop our teams of the future. You can download the presentation here.
You can also view our Workforce Strategy on a page here and keep in touch by visiting our intranet page.
The development of our full Workforce Strategy for 2023-2033 continues and we will share details with you in the future. As we shape our future roadmap, the initiatives and actions of our first year are already underway and I’m looking forward to discussing them with you in the near future.
