Monash Health Dental Services has been awarded the Best Campaign at FDI World Dental Federation’s World Oral Health Day awards.
Dental Services Service Director Dr Ramini Shankumar received the award at the World Dental Congress 2023 in Sydney last week.
She would like to thank Jessie Young and the health promotion champions for organising the activities. Additionally, she would like to extend her appreciation to the Communication and Engagement team for helping with the social media campaign.
FDI President Professor Ihsane Ben Yahya recognises Monash Health’s longstanding commitment to the oral health of patients, families and communities within its municipality. The goal of the campaign this year was to promote oral hygiene behaviours and improve oral health awareness, focusing on the link between oral health and cardiovascular health.
During the week of 20 March, our dental team organised various activities for the community, which included an exhibition and the distribution of key information and materials in waiting rooms, alongside a comprehensive communication campaign.
On World Oral Health Day, Monash Health’s dental team played a role in engaging in discussions about the connection between oral health and heart health. Their key messaging reached up to 928 patients who attended the dental clinics, and 281 students at dental screenings across different schools.
“The campaign was highly effective in engaging the public and received positive feedback from dental clinicians.
“Congratulations to the Monash Health Dental Services (MHDS). I commend you for all your work and wide-ranging reach,” Prof. Ben Yahya says.
Congratulations to our Dental Services team!
