From 1 October our optional injury triage service expanded and it now offers specialised confidential treatment and support for psychological injuries sustained in the workplace.
In partnership with Access Psych, the service will offer injured employees a consultation with a Worksafe-approved psychologist, through a phone or video appointment, within 48 hours of referral.
If you choose to use this service, you will receive acute clinical treatment, education and strategies to manage your condition. Following consultation, your psychologist can provide you and your manager with a plan on how best to accommodate and support you in the workplace, retaining medical confidentiality.
The injury triage service will now offer the coverage of up to four free medical appointments within the affiliated medical clinics. This may include a GP, Psychologist or Physiotherapist, or a combination of all.
Cath Jeffries, Director – Health, Safety and Wellbeing says the purpose of expanding this service is to offer more easily accessible treatment options to assist you with your injury recovery while remaining at work.
“This differs from our EAP service; it is for employees who have sustained an injury while at work and focuses on supporting you to remain at work while you recover. It also provides access to a qualified Worksafe-approved psychologist.”
If you have sustained an injury at work and would like to use the injury triage service, you can contact 1800 264 368.
