Enhancing our injury triage service: A commitment to physical and psychological safety

At Monash Health, we genuinely care and are committed to the physical and psychological safety of all our employees.

At our Employee Forum yesterday, we heard from our Injury Management team about the updates to our injury triage service.

Learn more about the injury triage service in this short promotional video, which outlines how the service works:

What’s changed?

This service was expanded on 1 October 2023 and now includes specialised confidential treatment and support for psychological injuries sustained in the workplace.

In partnership with Access Psych, the service offers injured employees a consultation with a Worksafe-approved psychologist, through a phone or video appointment, within 48 hours of referral.

In addition, the injury triage service now provides up to four free medical appointments within the affiliated medical clinics for any injuries, whether physical or psychological, sustained at work. This may include a GP, Psychologist or WorkSafe-approved medical practitioner, or a combination of all.

If you have sustained an injury at work and would like to use the injury triage service, inform your manager and you can choose to have a private call with this optional service. Call 1800 264 368 (1800 COGENT).
You can also have your manager sit in on the call if you wish

You will be connected to an experienced, independent health professional who will fully assess the injury or illness, offer advice or arrange medical treatment if required and agreed by you. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
