Our six key strategic initiatives work together to ensure we meet the requirements of our annual Quality Business Improvement Plan (QBIP).
These six key strategic areas directly address the challenges we currently face as a health service and each is vital and interconnected, playing a crucial role in our ability to deliver world-class healthcare.
You can read more about these six strategic areas on our intranet.
As a reminder, our six key strategic areas are:
- Excellence in Timely Care – a transformative program of work to ensure the people we care for receive the right care, at the right time and place. It involves all our clinical reforms. We know from performance data that we are making inroads with our work here, demonstrated by improved access to care across our Emergency Departments, reduced surgery waiting lists, reduced length of stay, expanded community care capacity and many other clinical service improvements.
- Workforce – a strategy focused on building a workplace that resonates with potential and current employees, encouraging people to join, stay and grow their careers with us.
- Finance – a targeted approach to enhance our financial performance and management by building financial acumen and empowering our people, recalibrating our activity, maximising our revenue and carefully managing our spending.
- Digital – a strategy that leverages our digital systems and data to facilitate accessible, interoperable healthcare and enhance connections with our patients, and each other.
- Capital Projects – an exciting capital works program, including redevelopment of Casey Hospital’s Emergency Department, our new Early Parenting Centre in Casey, Community Hospitals in Cranbourne and Pakenham, the new Residential Care facility at Kingston, the Monash Medical Centre tower and the Dandenong Hospital redevelopment.
- Research – our research program is growing rapidly. This strategy will raise the profile of existing research at Monash Health, further expand our program and support impactful research across the organisation in areas of critical need and relevance.
We are making good progress on each initiative, and I look forward to working alongside you to continue to provide excellence in care to our community.
Thank you for your continued dedication and support.
