Empathy and kindness – new learning resources available

Three new topics have been released in the Leadership Hub on Latte where you can find resources you can read, listen to, and apply.

What’s new in the Leadership Hub?

  1. Leading a remote team
  2. Resilience
  3. Empathy and kindness

These topics are particularly relevant as we start feeling increasing pressure on our health service, and taking time to manage self-care, and consider the wellbeing of those around us, is more important than ever.

You can practice empathy and kindness every day, where small, simple gestures can go a long way.

Paying it forward can not only benefit the recipient of your kind gesture, but it can also benefit you. Performing kind behaviours prompts your brain to release hormones that lead to emotions like joy and happiness.

Put simply, it feels good when we do something nice for someone!

In this week’s Manager Briefing, we shared some links to great resources that can get you thinking about the reciprocal and compounding nature of empathy and kindness, managing life balance, and self-care.

You can find these resources below.

1.      A talk about the power of kindness, Simon Sinek
2.      TedTalk by Psychiatrist Dr Shimi Kang on bringing balance back into life
3.      The Imperfects podcast on Spotify: Ben Crowe on the importance of self-compassion, connection and purpose
4.      Strategies to combat organisational fatigue available on LATTE

Don’t forget – you can also learn more about empathy in our Digital Wellbeing Series.
