What is Posts Table Pro?
Posts Table Pro is a WordPress plugin that dynamically creates tables based on the content in your WordPress pages, posts or custom post types.
The tables on this page are loading content from our custom post type, Resources, which was created using the Pods plugin. The custom media type contains the metadata for our resources, but the files themselves are still uploaded and maintained in the Media Library.
All of these tables are embedded using shortcodes (the areas of text contained within square brackets).
Basic table
The table below contains only the file name and download link.
The shortcode contains these values:
posts_table post_type=”resources-library” columns=”title,cf:resources-cta:blank” term=”resources-category:returning-to-the-workplace-safely” column_breakpoints=”all,all” links=”content” widths=”75,25″
To explain each of these:
- posts_table is the type of shortcode
- post_type=”resources-library” starts by getting the data from our Resources custom post type
- columns=”title,cf:resources-cta:blank” are our columns, cf refers to our custom field in our custom post type, and blank removes the heading from this column
- term=”resources-category:returning-to-the-workplace-safely” refers to our custom taxonomy, Resources Categories, and selects only documents in a particular category
- column_breakpoints=”all,all” defines which columns appear on smaller, responsive screens, and in this instance, both columns appear on all devices
- widths=”75,25″ is forcing the column widths to 75% and 25%, respectively
