Completion and handover of the Victorian Heart Hospital is due in the next fortnight. This week Bernadette Comitti, Project Director Victorian Heart Hospital, treated us to a sneak peek of the brand-new facilities during the employee forum this week, with a look at the cath labs and theatres.
This is a very exciting time as we get ready to take possession of Australia’s first dedicated heart hospital.
We have already made some terrific appointments to roles with the Victorian Heart Hospital. Professor Derek Chew has been appointed as a Service Director at Monash Heart. He will also be the inaugural Director of Health Informatics Research at the Victorian Heart Institute. We have also appointed Dr Andrew Silvers as the inaugural Director of Anaesthesia at the Victorian Heart Hospital.
Katie Wild, who is currently at the Clayton Intensive Care Unit, will come across as the Nurse Manager for the ICU, another of our well-respected clinical leaders, Amanda Turner, has been appointed Nurse Manager, Ambulatory Services, and coming from Europe’s largest heart attack and arrhythmia centre, Barts Heart Centre, Barts Health in the UK, Adam Damianopoulos will be the VHH Nurse Manager, Emergency Services.
