The shape of work in the future and how we use technology to bridge the gap with remote teams, were just two of the hot leadership topics at this week’s Manager Briefing.
Another strong theme to emerge from the interactive session was the importance of hybrid working styles and helping people thrive in different environments by mixing up the styles of meeting, working and coming together as a team.
The session was facilitated by Linda Neitz and Chrissy Hammond from our Organisational Development and Learning team and featured several leaders from across the organisation.
If you missed the conversation, you can watch it at any time online.
Here are a few snippets of what some of you shared:
| “Having a mix of meetings in person and online. Even ad hoc greetings.” | “Understand people’s preferences better so that we get the best from people.” | “IT equipment in meeting rooms linked to teams allowing increased hybrid meeting options.” |
| “Frequent huddling. Daily casual check-ins. Consider adding title to patients’ faces and names if online meetings are here to stay, helps connect with people understanding their role.” | “Have some system that supports an on-site and working-from-home balance.” | “If working a balance of off & on-site, rotate the on-site days to touch base with different groups of staff.” |
| “Blend virtual and face-to-face.” | “Be thoughtful of personalities (not everyone wants to chat).” | “Embrace diverse needs.” |
