The wellbeing of health practitioners is critical to a functional healthcare system. Yet, as health professionals, we continue to feel unable to accept vulnerability. Stigma against sufferers of psychological distress and mental ill health continues.

Dr Kieran Allen, a Monash Health psychiatry trainee is launching the Many Hats Network to create an environment that supports and values those with lived experience of psychological distress, advocate for improvement in systemic issues that worsen distress and challenge stigmatising attitudes to enable a safe culture of disclosure.

We are a group that aims to challenge stigma and provide an opportunity for peer support and sharing of our experiences. Together, we can change the culture of stigma.
