Teams focus on self-care during the Resilient and Revitalised Team Challenge

The Resilient and Revitalised Team Challenge has reached the halfway mark and has been a fun, easy way for employees to focus on their wellbeing and build self-care tasks into their daily routines.

With two weeks of the challenge completed, we spoke to Jasmine Brammer, Senior Communications Manager and Anna Briggs, Communications Manager from Team Calmer Llamas about their experience so far.

When asked what motivated her to get involved in the challenge, team captain Jasmine explained the need to empty her emotional bucket and invest in long-term self-care strategies.

“I could feel my ’emotional bucket’ was full and little things were tipping me over the edge. The challenge looked like fun and something that would progress over time and could make a difference.”

After what has been a turbulent year, team member Anna shared that her favourite part about the challenge has been building a morning routine and taking some time to refocus.

“The Week 2 theme, Disconnect to Connect, has encouraged me to enjoy a few minutes of peace on my morning dog walk – centering myself with a coffee, book and meditation at the park which sets me up for a really good day.”

Jasmine added that the challenge has allowed her to build camaraderie with her team and get to know each other better, adding that she has seen her stress levels decrease.

“I didn’t think I had the time or energy to add more ‘tasks’ to my day. There are always little pockets of time to fit ‘pick me ups in’ so I’d encourage everyone to use those moments.”

The challenge aims to help participants learn how to add small self-care strategies into their everyday routine – Anna shared how it has helped her do this.

“You do not have to make lots of big changes at once, try adding one self-care technique to your day, once it becomes a habit it can make a big difference.”

For every team, the Resilient and Revitalised Team Challenge has been a great opportunity to prioritise self-care and stay connected with colleagues while engaging in some healthy competition too!
