Top teams reflect on the Resilient and Revitalised Team Challenge

Last month, over 200 employees participated in the four-week Resilient and Revitalised Team Challenge. The challenge involved weekly team missions, with a focus on a different theme each week including managing stress, disconnecting to connect and improving energy levels.

Participants have walked away with skills and techniques to improve their overall wellbeing and have developed positive daily habits. The challenge has helped employees to better manage work pressures, optimise their relationships, and become more refreshed and energised.

Each week, teams who completed all weekly missions went into a prize draw for a $50 gift voucher for each team member. Employees had to work together to achieve their team’s weekly target points.

We would like to congratulate the weekly winners and share how the Resilient and Revitalised Team Challenge has improved their daily habits and motivated them to prioritise self-care.

Week 2 winners – Team Hap-pea Chappies

Stacey, on behalf of team Hap-pea Chappies, shared how the challenge offered a reminder of the small ways you can prioritise your health and wellbeing every day. The challenge also allowed her team to encourage one another and feel supported in achieving their weekly wellbeing goals.

“Our team had lots of fun taking part in the weekly tasks and challenges. We routinely walked at lunchtime, set timers on our phone for stretching, and had some friendly competition with how much water intake we were having each day.

Some of the tips we learnt we already know are beneficial for our health, including sleep hygiene, meditation and mindful eating, but we don’t prioritise them enough. The challenge has generated lots of great conversations about wellbeing in the office.

We have all acknowledged how important and beneficial it has been to prioritise caring for ourselves, especially in such a busy time at work and in our personal lives. It was great to be encouraged by our manager and the organisation to take part in the challenge.

We are a competitive bunch and are looking forward to participating again in the future!”

Week 3 winners – Team Dynamic Duo

Michele, from team Dynamic Duo, remarked how the challenge has helped her recognise the daily habits she can improve and learn tips to prioritise her wellbeing. Michele also acknowledged that changing habits takes time, and it is important to make small adjustments every day to achieve your overall goals.

“I found the weekly challenges made me think about my lifestyle and I have become more conscious of my diet, sleep patterns, and recognising signs of stress after completing the four-week program.

There are certain areas I find hard to change, such as turning off devices two hours before sleep, but I am taking small steps and hope I will get better at it with time. The challenge was definitely worthwhile!”

Week 4 winners – Team Calm Collective

Team Calm Collective consisted of our colleagues from the health promotion team. Their roles include helping community settings, such as early years services, sports clubs and schools, to create healthier environments and make it easier for individuals to eat well, move more and develop behaviours to benefit their health and mental wellbeing. So, the challenge was an opportunity for them to improve their own behaviours and habits in the workplace.

“We used a WebEx teams page and email to share ideas with each other, discuss our successes, challenges and keep each other motivated. We shared tips and tricks to help us progress and develop great habits as a team.

By the end of the challenge, we felt we had picked up new skills and reinforced already positive habits.  We discussed our own personal struggles and have been inspired to learn some great habits from our colleagues.

We felt the challenge changed the workplace culture to one where we were encouraged to discuss our own health habits and motivate each other.”

We would like to thank all employees who participated in the challenge and the commitment you have made to improve your health and wellbeing, work towards small daily goals and support your colleagues.
