Permitted workers and childcare permits

The Victorian government has confirmed that as of 11:59pm on 23 August, authorised workers will still be able to access childcare, kindergarten and early education centres (and take a child to a centre) if:

  • at least one parent/guardian is authorised to work, has a valid authorised worker permit, is working either at home or on site, and
  • they cannot make alternative supervision arrangements.

All employees of Monash Health are permitted workers.  This includes clinical, as well as administrative and support services employees.

As an employee of Monash Health, you do not need a permit to send your children to school for onsite learning, to childcare or to kindergarten. You will need to provide a photographic ID issued by Monash Health to show to your child’s school/childcare centre/kindergarten. However, if your school/childcare centre/kindergarten still requires a permit, you can download a permit hereand ask your manager to sign this for you.

Parents and carers of vulnerable children can also access childcare, kindergarten and early education centres. A permit is not required in this case.

Frequently asked questions about permitted workers and childcare permits  have  now  been updated and can be found on the Coronavirus employee website. We will continue to update these as we receive advice from the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
