Described by one attendee as “fabulous …the best that we have had!”, this year’s AGM and Open Board featured a wide range of interesting speakers and content, reflecting on a remarkable year and looking forward to what is to come.
Board Chair, Dipak Sanghvi spoke to the high standard of care across our health service during a challenging year, “Much is expected of us and much is expected of our people – and they delivered.”
Chief Executive Andrew Stripp reported back on our year of operations, speaking to the hard work, dedication, and resilience we’ve seen across our health service: “From day one, our people have worked tirelessly – and shown flexibility, innovation, and endurance. We have all undertaken roles that were new, that required us to adapt, to listen to others for guidance in these new tasks.
And we have done this with kindness, support of each other, and with a determination to make sure our colleagues and our patients are supported.”
Chief Medical Officer, Anjali Dhulia, updated us on the progress we have made since last year’s Open Board meeting discussion about patient experience.
Victoria’s Chief Health Officer, Professor Brett Sutton, spoke about his role in presenting credible, timely information to the community.
Raf Epstein, ABC Radio presenter, and Sharnelle Vella, Seven News State Political Reporter, provided insightful commentary about the important role the media had in relaying information to the wider community.
We also heard from Monash Health’s Senior Advisor Community Engagement, Silva Nazaretian, about the importance of engaging with the various communities in our diverse catchment area.
