Festive treats for the holiday season from Olympic Snowboarder Steph Prem

Earlier this month, at an employee wellbeing forum we spoke with Steph Prem, former Australian Snowboardcross Champion and health and fitness advocate.

During her presentation, Steph offered some strategies for maintaining health and wellness during the holiday season while undertaking a cooking demonstration.

Steph’s approach for healthy eating is to find balance and, where possible, healthy substitutions. She said that eating healthily shouldn’t be about avoiding certain foods but finding ways to make old favourites lighter and cleaner – and still just as yummy!

Some suggestions Steph shared include swapping soft drinks for soda water, fruit syrups for fresh fruit, chocolate powder for raw cacao, or buying organic and natural products where you can.

When asked how to find the motivation to prioritise health and wellbeing, Steph encouraged employees to start small by introducing daily habits and not being too hard on themselves about previous choices they have made.
