Congratulations to the Infection Prevention and Epidemiology team, who won a STAR Award for Exceptional Teamwork. Bec McNamara, Senior Infection Prevention Consultant, accepted the award on behalf of the team at today’s employee forum.
The Exceptional Teamwork Award is given to a team who build an inclusive, high-performing culture, work together to improve systems, processes and the work environment, and put quality and kindness at the heart of everything they do.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Infection Prevention and Epidemiology Team have stepped up time after time to keep us safe. They have carried out their work with diligence, excellence and kindness, and they have supported the organisation through contact tracing, patient management and flow, as well as PPE guidance and advice.
“Like everyone, we’ve gone through three years of rapid changes,” says Bec McNamara. “It’s been quite a journey for us and it feels great to know that we’ve had success .”
The team has worked extended hours, into the evenings, over weekends and public holidays to ensure high quality Infection Prevention service delivery is provided seven days per week. They have responded quickly to changes in Department of Health directives and ensured evidence-based practice was at the forefront of service delivery across the organisation throughout the pandemic.
Thank you to the whole Infection Prevention and Epidemiology team, for keeping us safe through their exceptional teamwork!
If you would like to nominate a colleague or team, you can do so at any time by visiting the STAR Awards portal. For more information about the STAR Awards program, visit the Monash Health COVID-19 website.
