Let’s face it, sleep is not for the weak. When we are sleep deprived, we are more than just cranky, irritable and lacking concentration. Recent studies consistently back the fact that when we don’t sleep enough, we are not giving our brains enough time to regenerate the right balances of chemicals that actually helps us to feel happy.

Supporting the forum are a wonderful collective of Monash Health experts to answer your questions, and share their knowledge, wisdom and best practices for sleep and resting your body and mind:

  • Sharryn Lydall-Smith, Senior Counselling Psychologist, Pain Service and the Be Well Program
  • Andrea Funke, Senior Occupational Therapist, Pain Management
  • Dora Alexiou, First Year Consultant, Specialties Geriatric and Pain
  • Loulou Ibrahim, Monash Medical Centre / Monash Children’s Hospital Nursing Coordinator

Employee Wellbeing Forums are held monthly and cover a range of topics to support employees’ to prioritise their health and wellbeing, and those of their colleagues and loved ones.

The Forums provide practical discussions, resources, and information to empower employees to access support services and learn wellbeing strategies to implement into their daily routines.

If you are seeking more information about improving your sleep, check out the resources from our Employee Wellbeing Programs, including our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provided by Converge International. The EAP aims to assist you in meeting any challenges or demands you may be facing in your work or personal life. Employees can access webinars and resources for free on the Converge International portal, including their monthly online magazine, Flourish.
