It’s time to complete your SMR training

As you know, our SMR (Scanned Medical Records) system will undergo a significant upgrade to improve how we manage referrals on 26 June.

With the date of the upgrade only a few weeks away, please help us get ready for the upgrade by completing the required training modules and attending a training session from next week.

Please note that LATTE training needs to be completed by Friday 23 June.

Who needs to do the training?

Everyone who uses the SMR system, including both clinical and clerical teams, will need to do training. This ensures that you will understand how to submit, triage and process a patient referral in the new system from day one of the upgrade, providing a smooth transition for our teams and our patients.

Training includes LATTE modules that will target the specific needs of different users and attendance at a drop-in session where you will see a live demo and have the opportunity to ask questions.

What you need to do

  1. Take a look at the SMR Upgrade Training Matrix: this will tell you which training modules you are required to complete according to the role/s you perform.
  2. Complete your required training on LATTE: you will find all the training modules under the Referrals Manager and Scanned Medical Record eLearning sections. Each training module will take around 15 minutes.
  3. Select an online session to attend: join a session for a live demonstration of the system and an opportunity to ask questions. There are three session types to specifically cater for the unique needs of referring clinicians, triaging clinicians and clerical teams.

What the update will mean for you

The upgrade will introduce a new overall look and feel for the SMR. Stage one of the upgrade will introduce three new fields, new referral status options, enhanced search capabilities, and other features to improve how we capture and manage patient and referral data. Through the upgrade, the ‘eReferrals’ module will also be renamed as the ‘Referrals Manager’.

Among other changes, it will mean that when you submit or triage patient referrals, you will be required to complete three new information fields that identify the referral reason, the patient’s episode health condition/s, and mode of consultation from the list of available options.

You will learn about these new requirements through the LATTE training and information sessions.
