It’s Wear It Purple Day – Let’s Paint the Day Purple!

Today (Friday 25 August) is Wear it Purple Day, an opportunity to wear our support for the LGBTIQA+ community on our sleeves by donning the colour purple.

Wear it Purple Day is now an international movement of expression, celebration, and support. By wearing purple on the last Friday of August, you demonstrate to hundreds of thousands of rainbow young people across Australia that you see them, you support them, and you respect them.

Here at Monash Health our LGBTIQA+ subcommittee remains committed to removing barriers that impact our patients, employees, community and visitors. The committee continues to work on updating our policies and procedures, an employee educational package and is pleased to see the roll out of name badges to include pronouns.

So, today put on your favorite shades of purple and let’s show our commitment to fostering an inclusive and accepting environment for all. If you can’t wear purple due to uniform requirements, you can decorate your office instead.
