Join us in congratulating Associate Professor Sara Baqar for her STAR Award, Excellence in Occupational health, safety and wellbeing.
This award is for an individual, group or team who develop innovative ways to improve the quality of health care and service delivery. This may include identifying and eliminating risks in the workplace, supporting employees to report issues, and putting in place employee wellbeing activities and tools that support improved mental health and psychological safety.
Since recently stepping into her role as Director of General Medicine at Monash Medical Centre, Sara has already made wonderful contributions to supporting colleagues and junior staff by prioritising patient and staff safety and wellbeing.
She provides regular positive feedback and encourages everyone – junior or senior, from medical or non-medical roles – to have a voice. She actively listens and then does something about it to make a difference.
