Monash Health’s Mental Health Program is pleased to announce that all employees now have access to The Resilience Project’s Digital Discovering Resilience Program.
In line with National Mental Health Month and its theme ‘Mental Health: Post Pandemic Recovery Challenges and Resilience’, the program is designed to provide practical and evidence-based strategies to help employees manage their wellbeing in the work environment and with friends and family.
Presentation by Hugh van Cuylenburg
As part of the program, employees will have access to an exclusive webinar presentation by Founding Director and Facilitator at The Resilience Project, Hugh van Cuylenburg.
Hugh has been working in education for over 15 years, teaching both primary and secondary in a range of educational settings. He is also a best-selling author and co-host of the popular podcast, The Imperfects.
His presentation offers an introduction to The Resilience Project’s three main strategies, often referred to as GEM:
- Gratitude – appreciating what you have, not focusing on what you don’t
- Empathy – thinking of the needs of others and the importance of kindness
- Mindfulness – being present in the moment, not becoming distracted by unhelpful or negative thoughts
Through storytelling, humour, evidence and personal experience, the presentation runs through the benefits of GEM (gratitude, empathy and mindfulness), and the easy ways to practice these in everyday life.
The presentation runs for 50 minutes and can be viewed on LATTE by searching ‘The Resilience Project’ in Find Learning. Please note that the presentation will be available for two weeks only, until 2 November.
We encourage you to organise a time to watch this presentation in your teams or individually at a time that suits you.

In addition to the presentation, from November 2 employees will also have access to The Resilience Project’s Digital Wellbeing Series, which includes 10 x three-minute videos covering a range of topics such as:
