Changes to our Incident Management System from Tuesday 13 June

The front page of the Emergency Code Booklet, which is red, has a graphic of a phone and says "In an emergency call 2222".

We are upgrading our Incident Management system as part of enhancing patient and employee safety. Our new system will provide a faster response time, is more efficient and will be a more stable platform.

When?

From Tuesday 13th June 2023.

Who needs to know?

Anyone within Monash Health who is involved in responding to any of our emergency Codes.

What you need to know?

The main change will be the order in which people now receive emergency notifications for codes. Previously an overhead announcement would be heard before pager and SMS messages were received.

People will now receive the pager/SMS communication about the Code before the overhead announcement is heard. This is the way this system is designed and will ensure our response teams receive faster, more accurate information.

Please do not call 2222 to ask whether a step has been missed – this is a planned, permanent change.

As part of the upgrade, we will be undertaking live tests prior to ‘Go Live.’ These tests will occur at approximately 10.00am on Tuesday 13 June to specific codes. There is no action required for these tests unless your area has been specifically advised otherwise. Test messages will read ‘Test Only, no requirement to respond’. Code groups for testing include:

  • Clayton ED Code Grey
  • Casey MET Call Adult
  • Monash Children’s Code Yellow
  • Dandenong Code Blue Adult
