Following on from the announcement that Professor Eugine Yafele will be the next Chief Executive for Monash Health, I wanted to give an update on a revised start date. Professor Yafele will relocate from the United Kingdom to Australia and start with Monash Health in March 2024. In the interim, Martin Keogh will continue to act as Chief Executive and the Board members and I thank him for ably leading Monash Health during this time of transition for our organisation.
Eugine is currently the Chief Executive Officer at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. Prior to that, Professor Yafele held the Chief Executive Officer position at Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust and in 2022 was recognised as the top CEO in the NHS by the Health Service Journal. In addition to bringing a deep and broad experience across senior clinical, leadership and operational roles, Eugine is particularly interested in value-based healthcare and reducing health inequities.
