Shay Payne, Medical Physicist Trainee
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women, and early detection is crucial. Shay’s project aims to develop an AI-based tool to convert 3D tomosynthesis images into simulated 2D mammography images, reducing radiation dose while maintaining diagnostic accuracy.
Caitlin Miles, Senior Cystic Fibrosis and Paediatric Dietitian
Caitlin is exploring the impacts of a novel triple combination CFTR-modulator therapy on gastrointestinal and nutritional health in children aged 6-11 with cystic fibrosis. Her research focuses on understanding the benefits of this therapy on the younger population.
Kimberley Pitruzzello, Clinical Nurse Educator, Paediatric Intensive Care
Kimberley’s research addresses the critical care nursing workforce crisis by defining the attributes of an expert PICU nurse to inform training programs and support the development of the junior workforce.
