One Pay – what do you need to consider as a manager?

One Pay graphic

For all H payrun employees, a change to the pay week will occur in August. By now, your teams should be aware of the approaching change. The key dates are outlined below.

27 July 2023 Last pay processed on H payrun (for the fortnight ending 23 July)
3 August 2023 One week’s pay on the N payrun (for the week ending 30 July)
17 August 2023 First full fortnight pay on N payrun (for the fortnight ending 13 August 2023)

What can you do now?

Review your roster patterns: do you roster over a 4-week period?

A new pay cycle will mean your work weeks will now fall into a new pay cycle.

Currently, your roster and pay cycles may align like this:

Pay cycle fortnight 1

  • Roster week 1
  • Roster week 2

Pay cycle fortnight 2

  • Roster week 3
  • Roster week 4

With One Pay, your roster and pay cycles may align like this:

Pay cycle fortnight 1

  • Roster week 2
  • Roster week 3

Pay cycle fortnight 2

  • Roster week 4
  • Roster week 1

Will the new pay fortnight total more hours for that fortnight for some people in your team? If so, consider whether this may trigger overtime payments. Will you need to realign your rostering schedule?

Remind your teams about the change

Please ensure your current team members on the H payrun are aware of the approaching One Pay change, and remind them of any action they may need to take depending on their circumstances. You can provide them with this checklist to assist them.
