Have you heard about the new Monash Health employee benefit – Monash Imaging’s Employee Imaging Service (EIS)?
Simply email your imaging request form to eis@monashhealth.org and our dedicated team will be in touch.
Monash Imaging offers a comprehensive range of medical imaging, including Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Imaging. If you or a family member require a PET examination, you can access this service via the EIS.
PET imaging located within Monash Imaging at Moorabbin Hospital offers high quality, specialised reporting and examinations with an evidence-based approach. PET imaging is predominantly used in assessing and staging of cancers as well as assessment of Epilepsy and Neurodegenerative conditions.
This is a highly sensitive imaging technique, which uses small amounts of radioactive tracers to aid diagnosis. These tracers are given by injection, usually into a vein in the arm. A PET/CT scanner is used to obtain an image showing the distribution of the tracer within the body.
Our PET department was renovated in late 2017 adding a second state of the art PET scanner as well as optimising the layout to improve the patient experience.
Imaging is 100% bulk billed if the patient and examination are eligible for Medicare and the referral is from a Specialist. For imaging that is not covered by Medicare, we endeavour to keep our fees as fair as possible.
