A process is now in place to manage employees who may be at risk of serious illness should they contract COVID-19.
There is a screening checklist and FAQs to assist employees and managers identify people who may be at greater risk of serious illness from COVID-19 and optimise their safety at work.
At-risk employees are defined by information coming from the Department of Health and Human Services and include:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people over 50 years and older with one or more chronic medical conditions
- people 65 years and older with chronic medical conditions
- people 70 years and older
- people with compromised immune systems
- people who are pregnant.
The screening checklist should be completed by the employee. The FAQs outline the steps in the assessment process. This will help identify the next steps. All information will be kept confidential.
