Nominations for Quarter 3 STAR Awards close 30 September. We have seen so many displays of kindness, teamwork and exceptional care in the last few months, what better way to acknowledge the work of your colleagues than by nominating them for a STAR Award!
There are eight categories that you can nominate an individual or team in, outlined below.
Submitting your nomination is quick and easy through the STAR Portal. For more information on the nomination process, the STAR Awards and the STAR Program, you can visit the Monash Health COVID-19 website.
In Pursuit of Excellence
This category recognises an individual, group or team who have personified our intent to be relentless in the pursuit of excellence. Last quarter, we highlighted the work of the Community NDIS team in their successful accreditation audit.
Excellent Experiences
This award is for an individual, group or team who have made a positive impact to the experience of our people, patients or consumers. We provide excellent experiences every day. Marg Harley is an example of a STAR winner who navigated a tricky situation and delivered an excellent experience.
Exceptional Teamwork
This award is for an individual, group or team who demonstrate outstanding teamwork qualities. Our Engineering team, winners this quarter, showed us how exceptional teamwork is crucial in ensuring our hospitals continue to operate smoothly.
Outstanding Care or Service Delivery
This category recognises an individual, group or team who have achieved outstanding care or service delivery. This doesn’t always have to be within the four walls of the hospital. Past winner, Ben Meiklem, put his training into action on his lunch break.
Excellence in Research, Teaching and Innovation
This award is for an individual, group or team who have developed innovative ways to improve the quality of health care and/or service delivery. Dr Andy Lim won a STAR Award in this category for his work in improving stroke care across our campuses.
Managing Wisely
This award is for an individual, group or team who actively look for ways to minimise waste and manage resources wisely. We aim to be sustainable in our operations, and we want to hear about the initiatives you see in the workplace.
Excellence in Occupational health, safety and wellbeing
This award recognises an individual, group or team who have put health and safety at the heart of the way they work. There are many ways individuals or teams can contribute to occupational health, safety and wellbeing. Whether they are a Health and Safety Representative like David or keep our workplace safe like our Security team, we want to hear about it!
