Registrations for the 2022 Walking Challenge are open and close Saturday 5 March. This year, the Challenge is FREE for all employees, their families, and friends to join.
The Challenge starts on Sunday 6 March and runs for four weeks, until Saturday 2 April. The Challenge is a great opportunity to connect with your colleagues and loved ones, clear your head after a busy day, and enjoy time outdoors, all while staying active.
To participate, you’ll need to join a team of four and work together to achieve your team’s weekly goals. There are great prizes on offer throughout the Challenge, including for the top teams and the most improved teams, so stay tuned.
This year, teams will virtually walk around Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil, to encourage and inspire you throughout your virtual steps journey. During the challenge, you will also have access to healthy recipes, simple and fun exercises, and the opportunity to explore fascinating cultures and traditions.
How to register your team
- Gather your team of four people, including your colleagues, family members or friends. Please note, your team must have four people and cannot have more or less than four in your team.

- Once you register and throughout the Challenge, you’ll receive further information and updates from the Health@Work platform
- The Challenge starts Sunday 6 March and that is when you can start recording your daily steps and activity

Tracking daily steps
During the Challenge, you will need to use a fitness tracker to count your steps, this may include a smartwatch, pedometer or a step counting app on a smartphone.
If you need to purchase a fitness tracker, please contact Gaynor Henderson, Health and Wellbeing Coordinator. The cost of a fitness tracker is $15.00 and will be processed through a payroll deduction.
On the Health@Work platform, there is also an exercise conversion chart, to help you calculate your steps for any activities where you may not wear your step counting device.
