This year’s flu vaccinations for employees are off to a flying start and we are keen to see this continue.
With borders reopening and our population moving about more freely, the spread of flu is back on the agenda this year.
As discussed by Prof Rhonda Stuart, Medical Director, Infection Prevention and Epidemiology, at this week’s Employee Forum, this year’s flu season will be coupled with the existing COVID wave, and COVID vaccinations – or previous COVID infections – will not protect you from the flu.
“We are in both COVID and influenza territory at the moment…it’s quite possible you might even get both at the one time if you’re not vaccinated.”
